Filling powdered materials into receptacles.- Relates to apparatus for charging receptacles with powders &c. by a screw or worm in a nozzle. A vertical cylindrical nozzle a contains a cylindrical worm b carrying a conical or like extension c lying within the nozzle and forming with the lower end d of the nozzle an annular discharge opening. The largest diameter of the extension c is adjacent the opening. The free discharge of the material when the worm is at rest is prevented. The end d of the nozzle may be turned inwardly and may have a wavy inner edge, or a grating may be disposed at the mouth of the nozzle.
