Abstract

18,707. King, A. Sept. 16. Handle - bars.- The handle - bars are formed with a plate h provided with bushes c which are secured to pins d which slide in a guide-plate o secured to the steering-post g. A tube f, secured to a centre bush e on the plate b, slides in the tube g and is supported by springs encircling a tube n secured to the handle - bars, provided wit h a collar h to separate the springs, with a nut m as shown. In a modification, the tube n is dispensed with, the tube f being prolonged to the lower end of the springs and provided with slots through which pass arms securing the collar h to the tube g. In a form described in the Provisional Specification, a stem on the handle-bars slides in a socket secured to the steering-post, and has a pin which passes through the socket and is surrounded by a spring which supports the stem. Outside the socket the pin is fitted with a second spring acting counter to the first.
