Abstract

From the piston chamber the compressed air is led to a central reservoir. If the pressure produced in this way is not sufficient, it may be increased by air pumps. The cylinder B is cooled by water circulated through compartments N by pipes O. In the case of steam engines, steam is circulated through the compartments N.
