According to the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the cover B slides on the cup A, and its detachment is prevented by the flanges A<1>, B'. When the cover is raised, the aperture A' is exposed. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the cover B slides within the cup A, and its motion is limited by the stop B'. In the construction shown in Fig. 7, the cover B is provided with slotted arms working on studs within the cup A. When the cover is raised, the spout of the oil can is inserted beneath it. A piece of wire may be inserted in the cup, causing it to act as a needle lubricator ; a shoulder on the wire may form a valve.
