Abstract
17,660. Rotru, C. Aug. 16. Sliding bolts; door chains and the like.-A sliding bolt C is arranged to hold a door or window either closed or ajar. The bolt is shot by a rack and pinion B turned by a key or thumb-bit A. A variable amount of the bolt can be made to project from the lock case. A spring F engages notches in the bolt to secure it in any position. The bolt head when partly shot engages a pivoted slotted bar D which allows the door to stand ajar, but when fully shot it enters a staple E and locks the door.
