Abstract
189,811. Rodolausse, E. Dec. 5. 1921, [Convention date]. Addition to 162,617. Track apparatus for stopping trains.-In apparatus according to the parent Specification the detent lever 7 which normally holds the speedsupervising cam against rotation is released pneumatically or electromagnetically by the co-action of a track cantact with a chain or wire 12 stretched below the locomotive. One end of the chain 12 is connected to a spring-pressed plunger 14 which, when released closes a contact 20 in the circuit of an electromagnet 21 and also opens a valve 22 to pass air from the brake system to an expansible bulb 6a by way of conduit 24. The other end of the chain 12 is connected to a pistonrod 10 in a pivoted cylinder 3, so that on release of the chain after engaging a track contact, air is forced by the spring-urged piston to an expanding bulb 6. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also refers to Specification 180,698. This reference does not occur in the Specification as accepted.
