9496. Hobbs, C. W. April 25. Making boxes.-Strawboard and like boxes are covered with paper, and the flies or flaps, at the mouth or top edge, are simultaneously attached by apparatus such as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. The covering-paper e<1> is led from a reel e over a pasting- trough g, and under and over guide-rollers f, f<1> to the box placed on a former h, which is adapted to be rotated. The fly-strip k<1> is fed from a roll k over the pasting-trough i to join the covering- paper at the guide-roll f <1>. In passing over the trough i, the fly-strip is pasted by a narrow roller, the remaining width of the strip resting on a dry roller.
