A headed screw C is screwed into a collar D on the bush from the inside, the screw nick being on the outer end. The square spindle E is either passed into a square hole in the knob and held by screwing down the screw into one of a number of recesses, or the spindle is screwed by its corners into the knob and the screw turned down on to one of the faces. The screw may have a convex head to engage the recesses formed in ordinary spindles.
