26,645. Price, J. Nov. 15. Spigot-and-socket joints.-The invention is chiefly applicable to Stanford joints. The inner end of the socket has a shoulder to receive a composition ring F, the spigot having a correspondinglysituated ring H. The latter ring is rounded to enable the spigot to be more readily inserted, and to allow the pipes to be laid slightly out of line if required. The remainder of the socket and of the correponding part of the spigot are grooved, and together form a wide cavity for the reception of jointing cement.
