Abstract

189,720. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). May 12, 1922. Protective systems.-In order to connect motors or other apparatus to mains without danger, two electro-magnetic line switches 16, 17 are controlled by a manual switch 19. The switch 16 closes unconditionally; the switch 17 closes automatically on the response of a relay 20 which has its coil in shunt to all the motors 10, 11, 12 and controllers 13, 14, 15, the relay responding only when the controllers are " off " or in a high resistance position. Current-limit relays 27 - - 30 provide overload protection.
