Abstract
18,883. Lavington, G. L., and Wright, E. A. Aug. 14. Hat-boxes.-The box is rectangular, is deeper at the back than at the front, and has an arched lid which is deeper at the front than at the back. The rim of the hat is held by spring pads B against one side of the box, so that the crown projects towards the other side. The box is secured by a strap, which is passed through loops G on the box and lid, and is deflected by shoulders H on the lid so as to form a handle J ; a pin K on the lid engages with an aperture in the strap to prevent the strap from being accidentally drawn through the loops G when the box is open. The box may be adapted for carrying two hats with their crowns diposed towards one another.
