The traveller consists of a piece of wire bent into a form such as those shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3. It is arranged to engage with the upper and lower edges of the ring, and has an eye at the upper end in such a position that the point of contact of the thread therein is in line with the upper and lower edges of the ring. It is also arranged so that contact between the thread and the ring is prevented should the thread become slack, while the entrance of the thread between the two parts of the traveller into the eye thereof is not obstructed.
