6599. Ward, J. E. March 13. Locking nuts.-The nut is locked by a washer, Fig. 3, which has a horseshoe shaped groove 6 for receiving a wire nail. The nail is driven in after the nut has been screwed up, and its ends are bent up to engage with the sides of the nut. The washer is prevented from turning by a pin engaging a hole in the work.
