Abstract
1337. Verley, A. Jan. 18. O z o n e.-For producing electric effluvium for the manufacture of ozone, use is made of a device for producing Hertzian waves or vibrations, along with an ozonizer of ordinary form. In the diagram, T represents a transformer having poles P, P<1> connected to the condenser C. The condenser is also connected by wires P<1>, P<2>, P<1>, P<2> to an effluvium apparatus, such as an ozonizer 0 having metallic plates separated by a dielectric and having a space through which air, oxygen, or other gas can be passed. An air space is arranged at b, b<1>. Sparks, pass between band b<1>, and a series of extremely-rapid vibrations takes place in the whole effluvium apparatus, which may be made manifest by placing a Hertz's sounder near it.
