Gases, treating electrically. - In apparatus. for ozonizing air, the air is first dried in a refrigerating-chamber 7 supplied with a cooling- medium from the condensing-plant 1, 2, 3, the cooling-medium being afterwards used to cool the ozonizer 10. By this arrangement, the condensation of moisture in the ozonizer is prevented. A preferred form of ozonizer consists of tubular electrodes 27, containing inner electrodes 10, and opening into chambers 18, 19, 20, 21, so that the gas passes through the electrodes in succession. The electrodes are provided with hollow cooling - jackets 12 connected in series. A by pass 24 with a cock 25 is provided to allow the cooling-medium to pass directly to the compressor 1.
