Abstract

Shade-holders.-A shade carrier device for electric lamp holders comprises a lamp socket barrel 1, Fig. 2, having upper and lower hooked bayonet slots 3, 4 branching from longitudinal slots 2, and a carrier ring 5 having pins 6 for engaging the upper hooked slots 3 while the usual pins on the lamp neck engage the lower bayonet slots 4, the lamp shade being held between the carrier ring 6 on which the shade rests and a locking-ring screwed on the barrel above the shade. In a modification, the carrier ring 5, Fig. 7, is provided with depending arms 11 arranged to mask the longitudinal slots 2 in the barrel and to be locked in such position until the upper screw ring 9 has been displaced from the locking-position, and another slot 3<a> is provided at the top of the longitudinal slot 2 and on the opposite side to the other two slots 3, 4 so as to enable the carrier ring to be so positioned as to retain the .shade in position without causing the depending arms 11 to mask the longitudinal slots 2, and thus permitting attachment of the lamp.
