Abstract
187,393. Meazza, L., and Meazza, A. Aug. 25, 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Baling-presses.-In baling-presses for straw, fodder, &c., the platen 7 is actuated by a rod 6 pivoted at 5 to driving-wheels 3 so that during the first part of the stroke, the platen occupies an oblique position as shown in Fig. 1, and only assumes a vertical position at the end of the pressing stroke. The parts 9 forming the compression box are hinged at 10 so as to be turned back into the position shown in full lines in Fig. 2, to facilitate transport. During compression they are held in the working position by tie rods 11.
