Abstract

210,589. Fayet, A. Dec. 18, 1922. Baling-presses.-Relates to baling-presses of the type having a grooved base plate, removable sides and a centre screw passing through the top plate and into the base plate. The press comprises a base plate a with longitudinal and cross grooves g, h and removable sides b, c adapted to be secured in place by bars &c. A rod e, screwed at both ends, is screwed into a step bearing d in the bottom plate, the material to be baled is pressed in around the rod, and a lid i is forced downwards by a nut l on the screw f, acting through a castiron plate o and wedges k, removable arms n, m serving for manipulation. The sides are removed, and wires which have been placed previously in grooves g, h in the plate a are tied round the bale. The lid is removed and the rod e pulled out of the bale, which is then enveloped in canvas.
