Grips, friction.-In a fastening for holding brooms &c. of the kind in which the broom &c. handle is gripped between a fixed plate and an eccentrically pivoted member, the lever D is made from sheet metal stamped and pressed into suitable form. The lever shown is U-shaped and is mounted on a pin E carried by the arm A of a right-angled bracket A, B, which is adapted to be secured to a wall &c. Holes I are provided to allow of adjustment of the lever, and a spring F presses upon its upper edge. The extreme edge. H of the lever may be burred, serrated, or sharpened, and its downward movement is limited by a stop G.
