Heating by electricity. -- In an electric cooking- utensil a having a switch m controlled by a bimetallic strip n, the point of contact between the strip and the heating bottom b of the utensil and those parts of the bottom in direct contact with the heater d are at a higher level than the rim or edge c of the heating-bottom b. The contacts ot the switch are located in a separate compartment l. The switch arm q is held in the " on " position by the engagement of the free end of the strip h in a pawl-piece o against the pull of the spring n until the flexing of the strip h on undue heating releases the pawl o. The cover r is removable for resetting.
