Washing-machines with rotary dollies or stirrers having a dolly-tub formed with rubbing surfaces inside and outside the rotary path of the dolly-pegs, and with the dolly carried on and rotated by a central vertical shaft geared to a hand-lever mounted on the tub; the gearing is constituted by a toothed sector k pivoted to the tub engaging a pinion j on one end of the vertical dolly-shaft f, and a connecting-rod pivoted to the sector and to the hand-lever n. The teeth may be formed integral with the sector or may be formed of a length of sprocket chain k<1> riveted to the sector.
