Alloys.-Electrodes, welding rods, and' solder. ing sticks used for depositing metal by means of the electric arc, contain ferro-carbon or silicon-carbon alloy, the minimum percentage of carbon being 20 per cent in the former case and 25 per cent in the latter. The alloy may comprise 50 per cent carbon and 50 per cent iron or 35 per cent of carbon, 60 per cent of silicon, and 1.5 per cent of iron and aluminium.
