Plastic compositions containing india-rubber &c. and oils.-A core for tyres is formed from a composition consisting of about 15 parts of rubber, 5 parts of sulphur, 1 part of resin oil, and 15 parts of sponge waste, in the form of clippings of vulcanized rubber sponge, or of a mixing adapted to produce sponge on vulcanization, which is moulded and vulcanized as usual. Small cores may have a central aperture of small diameter, but larger cores are preferably solid.
