Abstract

185,041. Kirkpatrick, J. Oct. 13, 1921. Guards for preventing access of vermin.-A rat guard for ships' mooring-cables &c., of the kind comprising two metal plates a, a<1> detachably connected, as by a pivot b, and a central tubular member f, composed of two half-tubes, through which the cable passes, is made with the ends of the tube extended and bent over the plates as shown at h and fixed thereto by rivets g, so that chafing of the cable is thereby prevented. The tube is, moreover, lined with rubber, leather, vulcanized fibre, &c. j secured to the tube by rivets k. Stav members m are provided and the plates are corrugated as shown at a<2>.
