Abstract

Induction relays.-A variable speed dynamo is provided with an automatic switch comprising a conducting annulus driven by the dynamo shaft and a spring-controlled field system carrying a contact on the field system to connect the dynamo to the load circuit. A conducting annulus 6, Fig. 1, mounted on the shaft of the dynamo, rotates between the pole-pieces 7 and 8 of a field system carried by a disc 9 mounted on ball-bearings and adapted to oscillate under the action of the annulus 6 and a spring. A member 11 carrying the pole-pieces 7 is provided with projections 17 and 18, Fig. 3, which, with a stud 19, Fig. 2, limit the movements of the member 11 carrying a brush 32, adapted to engage a conducting segment 26 to connect the dynamo to the external circuit.
