Abstract

183,933. Franklin, A. May 3, 1921. Slings. - The sling comprises a series of metal members r mounted transversely on flexible metal carriers p. The members r may be metal tubes and the carriers p may be wire ropes passing through holes in the tubes, the tubes being spaced apart by distance-pieces q, or the tubes may be mounted in links forming a chain. In a modification, the sling comprises a number of triangular sections, built up of members such as r, p, which are assembled about a central ring.
