183,617. Marks, E. C. R., (Ideal Coated Paper Co.). May 10, 1921. Drawings to Specification. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Transfers.-A backing of paper or other absorbent material is coated on one side with a layer of pervious material, and this again with a layer of adhesive, preferably animal glue. The intermediate layer may be a mixture of soap, china clay and starch. In coating an article with adhesive, the outer surface of the adhesive is made tacky by moistening and laid on the article. The backing is now moistened with formaldehyde or other waterproofing agent and after a time is stripped off together with the pervious material.
