Arc-lamp electrodes.-A positive flame carbon of diameter not greater than 10 mm., having a metal coating and firmly secured in its holder, is burnt with a current load of not less than 1 amp. per sq. mm. With a carbon of 5 mm. diameter the current may be 2 amp. per sq. mm. The negative carbon may be inclined to the positive and provided with a metal core.
