Abstract

183,052. Klauck, M. A. Aug. 8, 1921. Actuating pumps by foot power.-In a tyre pump actuated by the foot through togglelevers and' springs. the piston is provided with twin rods passing through the cylinder cover and lying in an horizontal plane. In the pump shown, two rods e pass through glands d in the cylinder cover and are connected at one end to the piston and at the other to a' cross-head f. Bars g connect the cross-head with one pair of levers of the toggle mechanism, rollers h running in a guideway being provided at the joints. Springs m which effect the return stroke are connected to the inner ends of the bars g and to fixed points on the frame. A pressure gauge with a hinged protective cover v is provided.
