Abstract

182,021. Fairchild, W. L. Aug. 9, 1921. Air tubes and chambers.-The ends 1, 2 of an inner tube abut and are fitted with a rubber liner 3 and a patch 4 of rubbered fabric which is positioned between the tube and the liner 3. The valve-stem 7 passes through apertures in the tube &c. and is held in position by the head 8 and a nut 10 which is screwed down on a patch 5 as shown. The tube is then vulcanized to form a homogeneous wall. In a modified construction the patch 4 is fitted inside the liner 3.
