Abstract

F l u i d-actuated valves. - A valve device particularly applicable for main taining a fully charged supply o: liquid in the tank o: a liquid carbonating apparatus has a lit valve member actu ated by a pair of diaphragms one of which is subject to inlet pressure acting in the direction to open the valve. In the form shown, the needle valve 33 controls the supply of gas from an inlet connection 31 to a pipe 35 leading to carbonating tank 10 on which the valve casing is mounted. The valve spindle 22 has a head 23 connected to a diaphragm 21 clamped between two parts of the casing and subject to the pressure in the tank admitted through a nipple 13. The diaphragm 21 is loaded by a spring 24 arranged between the head 23 and an adjustable collar 25 mounted on a central tubular boss. A second diaphragm 36 subject to gas pressure is clamped between two parts of the casing and bears against a collar 37 on the spindle.
