Fire-bridges.-A hollow fire-bridge 2 is so arranged in the flue 1 of a steam-boiler that there is a small clearance between the sides of the bridge and the furnace flue. It is connected to the boiler by lateral pipes 3, 4. In new boilers the fire-bridge may be mounted on stands, and in old boilers it is mounted on the usual bottom firebridge.
