Abstract

237,146. Yarrow, H. E. Nov. 7, 1924. Pulverulent-fuel furnaces. - In a Yarrow boiler adapted for burning pulverized fuel, a steam drum A is connected by tubes E, F to two water drums B, C at the same or different levels, one on either side. A central water drum D at a still lower level is connected to either or both of the drums B, C by tubes G, H. The banks of tubes F, G, H may be of small depth. Pulverized fuel is injected at J and burns in the space I. The tubes G, H serve to cool the incombustible matter, and prevent the formation of slag.
