Abstract
181,196. Hayhurst, W. April 22, 1921. Heating by electricity. -A liquid-heater which may be applied to the evaporation and concentration of acids and chemicals, and in which the liquid is heated by the passage of current therethrough, is provided with a series of shelves or baffles a in zig-zag and overlapping formation over which the liquid flows in a thin stream, forming a series of cascades. The current may be caused to flow in parallel, as shown, in series, or in a combination of the two.
