Force-transmitting mechanism; blocks and the like acting on drums.-The segmental blocks 4 are applied to the internal surfaces of the drums 5 on the steering wheels of motor vehicles by a cam 1 secured directly to the control shaft 2 without the interposition of Cardan shafts and the like; the cam is of such form that sections, perpendicular to the steering- pivot axis I, L, and passing through the points of contact D, D' between the cam and the opposed surfaces 3 of the segments, present circular arcs of radius CD, O<1>D<1>, each arc having an angular amplitude not less than the maximum turning of the wheel.
