Locking nuts.-In a device for locking nuts of the kind in which an anchored washer 1 is provided with a groove to receive a locking-key 5, the groove is of such length that a stud or flattened dome 5<1> on the key 5 is arrested in the middle region of the face 4 of the nut and is held against further movement when the nut is slightly turned back. The key 5 may be replaced by a ball which projects slightly above the surface of the washer. The ball or member 5 may be either retained in the washer or be removable therefrom.
