Hand driving-mechanism. -A rotary shaft 36 for actuating an electric controller or any other device requiring a substantially constant effort is operated partly by manual power applied to a lever 15 and partly by pneumatic power from a cylinder 2, the force of either agency, separately being insufficient to operate it. When force is initially applied to the handle, one of the springs 30, 31 yields and moves a rod 27 attached to an air-admission valve for the cylinder 2. Manual and pneumatic power are thus brought to bear simultaneously on a quadrant 34 in gear with a pinion on the shaft 36. The pneumatic power may be replaced by any other motive agency.
