Abstract

180,402. Borrowdale, W., and Henshall, S. Feb. 16, 1921. Percussive hand tools.-The tool holder 3 is moved against a spring 5 by the action of cam surfaces on the end of a continuously axially rotating member 8, which surfaces co-operate with similar surfaces on the head 4. The member 8 is carried in an adjustable sleeve 9 and is rotated by a flexible shaft or an electromotor. Lubricant enters at 14, and is drained through a passage 17. In another form of the device the member 8 is itself reciprocated against a strong spring to strike blows on the head 4.
