Pneumatic - t y r e pressure gauges.-Relates to elastic-chamber .gauges combined with inflating - valves for permanent attachment to the tyre and consists in improvements in the method of securing the inner end of the elastic chamber to an anchor-piece, and in the method of graduating the indicating-plunger. A rubber tube 25 has one end fixed to a n i p p l e 24 on a graduated plunger 13 slidably mounted in an externally - threaded sleeve 6 which passes through the wheel felloe and is secured by a nut 12. The other end of the rubber tube is fixed to a nipple 32 on the a n c h o r - piece 31 screwed into the enlarged end 7 of the sleeve, and a hole 31a in the anchor-piece gives communication with the inner tube 1 of the tyre, which is secured by an air-tight joint 8, 9 with the sleeve. A spiral spring 29 surrounding the rubber tube is screwed on to threaded extensions on both the plunger and anchor-piece and its tension may be adjusted by turning the plunger, the graduations of which may be carried entirely round it. A central passage 14 in the plunger communicates with an ordinary inflating-valve 15, and a gasket 39 between the anchor-piece and the sleeve renders the parts air-tight. In a modification, the plunger may be permanently locked against turning, after adjustment, by a key on the sleeve sliding in a keyway on the plunger.
