Abstract

May 9), 1921, [Convention date], Supporting.-A lighting arrangement for photography, kinematography, and like operations comprises a source of light formed of a number of electric lamps which may be displaced and directed so as to obtain the desired illumination of the subject. The lamps are disposed in a reflector 23 mounted upon a wheeled carriage 11 adapted for displacement along rails 13 by means of chains 21, 22. The rails 13 are mounted on a second wheeled carriage 10 travelling on rails 12 in a direction at right angles to the rails 13 and operated by chains 19, 20. The rails are mounted on a frame 9 capable of being tilted about either its longitudinal or its transverse axis by reason of hinge-pins 7, 8 a pair of which are disposed on each pair of opposing sides and adapted for engagement with corresponding pairs of sockets 5, 6 on a frame 4 secured to the walls of the studio. The tilting of the frame 9 about either of its axes is controlled by a lever 15 provided with a series of holes whereby it is locked in the required position by the insertion of a pin 16.
