179,789. English Sewing Cotton Co., Ltd., and Bennett, A. April 14, 1921. Winding-machines.-In a, machine of the type described in Specification 20529/13, [Class 120 (iii), Yarns &c.], for splicing cotton &c. threads, winding-mechanism is provided so that the spliced threads can be wound from one bobbin on to the other without removal from the machine. The bobbins A, A' carrying the threads to be spliced are mounted on spindles on rails B, B<1>, the former of which can be raised into winding position by a rack b so that the thread is tree from the splicing devices. The winding mechanism is operated by a belt h which is moved on to a fast pulley H. on the shaft 7. The bobbins A<1> on which the thread is to be wound are driven bv a tin roller K. The thread guides g, whereby the thread is laid on the bobbins are operated through a mangle wheel G and racks G<1>, G<3>.
