Abstract

N o n - metallic elastic bodies and cores. - A rubber &c. core e vulcanized within a casing 7 is formed with two (staggered) series 12, 13 and 16, 17 of side recesses, the base portion 10 normally protruding. as shown in Fig. 2, so as to set up compression when the tyre is assembled in the wheel rim. Perforations 27 may be formed in the canvas lining 25 of the casing, to effect junction between the core and the rubber tread 11. The recesses in the core arc shaped to provide two sets of oppositelytapered pillars 15, 19 as shown in Fig. 1.
