Abstract
178,990. Williams, O. R. Feb. 14, 1921. Ground levers.-Railway and like points are operated by foot-levers which actuate a crank under the influence of a spring-controlled pin, the spring throwing the crank over when it has passed the dead-centre. The foot-levers J, J', Fig. 1, are connected to or integral with arms C<1>, C<2> on a crank C moving on a pivot B. A pin E is secured to an eye D<1> on the crank C and carries a spring G and a fulcrum block F, which is held in a strap. H secured to the top of the box A. The point-rod I is secured to an eye D on the crank C or to arms C<3> fitted alongside the crank. In a modification, Fig. 3, one foot-lever is used to actuate the points in either direction, and carries, or is formed as, a plunger N, which engages a lug K on the crank C. The compression springs G may be replaced by tension springs.
