Abstract

178,382. Allington, A. D. Sept. 9, 1921. Handle - bars. - Relates to a shock-absorbing device for the handle-bars. The handlebar 8 is connected to the stem 2 by a fitting 9 in which it can turn. The bar 8 has fixed to it a projection 12 bearing against helical springs 7. The parts forming the fitting 9 may be held together by nuts surrounding the handlebar, and the projection 12 is forked for a screwed rod 3 passing through nuts 16 which slide without turning in the stem 2.
