Abstract

177,866. Rogers, F. H., (Miller Traction Tread Co.). Jan. 4, 1921. Endless-track vehicles.-A track-laying device adapted to be detachably secured to the side of the ordinary driving wheel of a tractor comprises a ring 15 which runs on hinged rail sections 19 provided with ground plates 18 and is provided with teeth 16 which engage the pins 31 by which the rail sections are hinged together and also intermediate transverse pins 25. The ring 15 is braced by an internal flange 41 and webs 42 and is provided with brackets 14 which are seated under the edge of the wheel rim and connected thereto by bolts and U-shaped brackets 8. The rail sections have a lost-motion connection with each other by the pins 31 and slots in the end lugs 26. To maintain the track elements in proper position and reduce noise, they are connected together by links 34 and springs 36.
