Guarding against unauthorized use. -A device for limiting the speed at which the motor can be run by limiting the opening of the throttle valve of a motor vehicle engine comprises a. plate 1, with turned-over edges 3, 4 having a series of pairs of holes through which can be inserted a pin 11 with a lead seal 12. The plate is adapted to straddle the carburettor 7 and is secured thereto by bolts 8 through holes 2. The throttle lever 10 passes through the slot 5 produced by turning over the part 4, its opening movement being then limited by the pin 11.
