Abstract

Corner joints; joints between box bottoms and bodies.-The boards comprising the top, bottom, sides, and ends of a packing-case are reinforced and protected against tampering by means of metal strips a<1>, Fig. 2, driven into their meeting ends and concealed from view by covering-strips a<2> of wood, filled in over them. The top and bottom are similarly connected to the sides bv means of metal angle pieces a<3>, Fig. 3, covered in like manner by wooden strips a<4>. The metal strips and angle pieces are formed with holes so that they may be secured to the boards by screws entering from the inside.
