Abstract
175,252. Knecht, H., and Fehr, M. Feb. 5, 1921, [Convention date]. Coating fabrics in long lengths.-Molten material is transferred from the place where it is melted to the fabric by rollers, endless bands &c. In one form of apparatus, Fig. 1, solid material 8 is urged upon the face of a heated roller 11 by a spring- pressed piston, is melted there and applied to the web by the same roller, or bv a second roller. In another form, Fig. 3, a steel band 15 passes between a hot plate 14 and solid coating material 8. It therefore carries a film of melted material. which it imparts to the web 6 during passage round a roller 17 and between hot plates 16. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a.) describes a form of apparatus in which the material is applied by the upper of two heated rollers, the lower of which dips into the molten material. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
