Abstract

174,545. Sculthorp, G. R. April 12, 1921. Stencilling; inking- apparatus.-A stencil duplicator consists of a shallow flat tray A, an absorbent pad B charged with ink, a perforated metal plate C lying on the pad, and an absorbent sheet of linen &c. D forming the surface on which the stencil E is laid, the perforated metal plate being provided with means at one end, such as studs H, for securing the absorbent sheet thereon. The perforated plate may have unperforated margins round its edges and may be provided with a knob F for lifting it out of the tray. If desired, the bottom end of the absorbent sheet D may be secured to the perforated plate by turning over the end, as at d, to form a pocket, and stitching the ends of this pocket, the closed ends of which are accommodated in slots t provided in the bottom edge of the plate C.. An adjustable stop J, formed with clips K to grip the upstanding edges of the tray A, has one portion J<1> bent upright to position the top edge of the paper to be stencilled, and the other portion left flat at J<2> to support the corner of the paper out of contact with the stencil so as to facilitate lifting the paper therefrom.
