Hoods.-To balance the structure of a vehicle hood during the opening and 'closing movements, a main member 1 thereof is pivotally mounted in a tubular bearing 16 arranged at right-angles to the front of a plate 6 attached to the vehicle body in a longitudinal direction, a coaxial arm 11 at the back of the plate being fixed for movement with the member 1 and having a projection 12 underlying the plate 6 to limit the movements of the main member and forming one connection for a tension spring 13 anchored to the plate and acting against the load on the main member 1.
